1) COMMUNITY GROUPS: We believe that  ”Church” is not merely a building or a Sunday meeting, but a community of broken people redeemed by Jesus. Feel free to check out our Community Groups, where we can connect with you and get to know you on a deeper level.

2) CAL POLY LOVE PROJECT: We are partnering with Cal Poly’s EPIC Fellowship to do an outreach at the Cal Poly campus during their finals week, Wed evening June 6. We will be giving away refreshments to students studying for finals, just to show them the unconditional love of Jesus. The prep day will be Saturday, June 2. Please mark your calendars.

3) COLLEGE/FAMILY/CAREER RETREAT JULY 13-15: We will be having a summer retreat July 13-15 (Fri-Sun) at a cabin in Lake Arrowhead for graduating high school seniors and above. Mark your calendars! It will be a great weekend to relax and bond with our church family. Our speaker will be Pastor Elton Lin from San Jose who was our guest  speaker last month. EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION IS NOW JUNE 3.  Cost is $85 if registered by June 3, $100 if registered by July 1, and $115 by July 13. If money is an issue, you can speak with Pastor Ben about scholarships that are available. To register, simply write checks out to FEC-DB and give them to Frankie Chang or Pastor Ben.

4) URBANA 2012 DEC 27-31: Urbana is a student missions conference in St. Louis, Missouri sponsored by Intervarsity that happens every three years. Over 18,000 college students and others will gather to hear and be challenged about God’s global mission. We will be getting a group from our church to go, and it is open to high school seniors and above. Find out more at urbana.org

5) NEXT BAPTISM JUNE 10: Our next church wide baptism is on June 10. If you are interested in getting baptized contact Pastor Ben or Pastor Rocky.

YOUTH ANNOUNCEMENTS

1) TUESDAY TUTORING:  Our free homework help and tutoring hours are Tuesdays from 8:30-10pm at the Community Center. Feel free to bring any homework questions you have as well as some friends to study with!

2) YOUTH CSM SUMMER MISSION TRIP: This summer from July 22-27, we will be participating in an inner city mission trip to downtown LA. We did this last year and had a great time learning about the diversity of Los Angeles and how to reach out to broken people with God’s love. If you want more information, contact Emmeline Wong (emmewong428[at]gmail[dot]com). PLEASE REGISTER BY FRIDAY JUNE 8 along with a $100 deposit to secure a spot.
